Stepping into Placido's Pasta Shop you are greeted by the comforting smells of Italian Cuisine. The Chicken Pesto has Organic Basil blended with Spinach, Parmesan, Garlic, and Roasted Pine Nuts, sauteed with Chicken then tossed with Cherry Tomatoes and Fresh Organic Rotini. This is an outstanding dish. Another favorite is the Roasted Garlic and Gorgonzola Ravioli which has Garlic Basil Pasta in Brown Butter and Assorted Vegetables atop a bed of Spinach. Herbed Sourdough Bread with warm Marinara Sauce is brought to the table. Housemade Fresh Pasta has no equal when it comes to flavor. The atmosphere here is welcoming and engaging. You can buy Fresh Uncooked Organic Pasta to go. I promise you that you'll leave here full and satisfied.
Positive note is that the service was great. Food was ok for me. Other than the fresh focaccia and marinara sauce which was delicious, I wouldn't get what I ordered again. I had the ravioli with garlic, gorgonzola, and fresh vegetables. It was too rich, and there was too much going on. My husband did like the fettuccine though.
Because we didn't have a reservation, we had an outside table looking at the prison. We had tried calling twice to get a reservation, but no one answered the phone. We also had issues with bees that kept coming over to our table. The cost was $75 before the tip.
It's a good standout among Italian restaurants in the Eugene market. With its limited menu, it can focus on what's important; fresh homemade pasta and good flavors. It is consistently good in food and service!
Placidos is a small restaurant and I highly recommend reservations. We saw a few people show up without reservations and and be turned away.
The food is delicious especially the house made pasta. The carbonara is to die for.
If you like a sweet and sour drink the lemon drop is very good.
Quaint, cute, and cozy Italian in Eugene with great music and vibe.Serving certified organic pastas and focusing on sustainable practices. Very busy, every seat at the bar was taken. Service was great, friendly, and not overwhelming and parking was close and available, big plus! We enjoyed our vodka rigatoni, although there was an overload of sausage in it paired with a great wine. Would love to try more dishes in the future, will definitely be back.
Definitely one of the best gems of Eugene! The food is so good but luckily for me, they do have gluten friendly pasta options. My husband got the salmon ravioli and loved it!
We also grabbed a caprese salad!
The service was incredible and the atmosphere so welcoming. We will certainly be back!
The ravioli dishes were literally floating in oil- it was rather unpleasant. The pasta may have been great, but it was difficult to taste anything besides the 5-6 tablespoons of oil they were in. My ravioli was described as being served on a bed of spinach, but what I received was maybe 10-15 leaves of spinach, also floating in oil. I couldn’t eat them at all. The server was … energetic, but didn’t really pay attention to whether we were enjoying our food. None of the six of us finished our meals.
First time here. Sat at the bar, bartender was on point! She was very personable and made some tasty drinks! Food was delicious! Hard to decide what to order. Got smoked salmon spinach fettuccine, so good! Husband ordered spaghetti & meatballs. Trust me, go!
